Fully Funded Scholarships!
Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program:
This scholarship fully covers tuition, provides a monthly stipend equivalent to $450, and includes a round-trip flight from the beneficiary’s home country to Rwanda, with a return ticket after graduation if they choose to go back.
Government of Rwanda Grant:
All Rwandans receive a 50% grant from their government, in addition to a 50% East African Community Scholarship. This means that Rwandan citizens benefit from a total of 100% funding, along with a monthly stipend. (This is exclusively for Rwandan nationals, including Rwandan refugees worldwide who are eligible for this scholarship and grant package.)
Government of Rwanda East African Community Scholarship:
A 50% scholarship available to all eligible citizens of the East African Community.
Innovators Forward Fellowship Fund:
Internally generated funds from CMU-Africa that help cover tuition fees for students who do not receive full scholarships.
Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS):
A scholarship fund based in South Africa that offers 100% scholarships for students admitted to graduate programs across Africa.
Smart Africa Scholarship:
Available exclusively to citizens of Smart Africa member countries, this scholarship covers 100% of tuition at CMU-Africa.
With the exception of the MINDS scholarship, applicants do not need to apply separately for these scholarships. CMU-Africa automatically considers all admitted candidates for scholarship opportunities, with awards based on merit. However, admitted applicants who are refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), or individuals with disabilities have a greater likelihood of receiving a scholarship. We are also committed to increasing the number of female students in our programs
