Hope Foundation is dedicated to fostering self-help development across several key areas of intervention:
Health:
Our focus on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) is delivered through comprehensive sex education programs. Launched during the second lockdown, this initiative initially targeted teenagers in schools. As schools reopened, we shifted our activities to secondary and primary schools, continuing to provide essential SRHR education.
Education:
- Functional Adult Literacy: We serve 2,107 learners who missed out on formal education. Our program features 10 learning centers, each offering levels 1 and 2 to support adult literacy.
- Girl Child Education and Empowerment: We use sports, particularly girls’ football, as a tool for community mobilization and SRHR education. This initiative helps build girls’ talents, offers scholarships to outstanding players, and keeps them engaged in positive activities. We also support students in protection villages by covering their school fees and uniforms.
Sexual Gender-Based Violence (SGBV):
We address SGBV in conjunction with SRHR by identifying cases, providing referrals, and conducting follow-ups with our partners. Our clubs and community activities also raise awareness about SGBV among adolescents.
Peaceful Co-existence:
We have piloted a digital advocacy project aimed at combating hate speech and promoting the meaningful participation of young people, with a particular focus on girls. This initiative seeks to foster a culture of respect and constructive engagement among youth.
