Hope Foundation is making a significant impact on the lives of adolescents and youth in the Imvepi Refugee Settlement by championing Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and improving access to vital sex education. We deliver comprehensive sex education in both secondary and primary schools, providing young people with the knowledge they need to navigate puberty and avoid teenage pregnancies.
Our innovative SRHR initiatives are breaking new ground by overcoming cultural, religious, and traditional barriers that have historically restricted access to essential services for youth, adolescents, women, and Persons with Disabilities (PSNs).
In addition, our Refugee Sports Grant, supported by UNHCR, offers education scholarships to empower girls and foster their educational advancement.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to UNHCR for their unwavering support and commitment to our mission.
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
Our Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) initiatives began during the second lockdown, concentrating on providing sex education to teenagers in schools. As schools reopened, we expanded our focus to include both secondary and primary school students, continuing our efforts to deliver essential SRHR information and support.
Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV)
In our Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) program, we regularly conduct awareness sessions at our clubs and engage in various community activities with adolescents. We actively identify SGBV cases, make referrals, and follow up with partner organizations to ensure comprehensive support and intervention
Peaceful Co-existence
We are piloting a digital advocacy project designed to combat hate speech and promote the active participation and engagement of young people, with a special emphasis on empowering girls. This initiative aims to foster a more inclusive and respectful environment through innovative digital strategies.
